Overall, our goals are to dedicate to the enjoyment, research and protection of wild birds. Our aim is get people to know birds and through this understanding to raise public awareness over bird and environmental protection.

| Future Prospects |

Looking toward the future, we hope to continue to pursue wild bird and habitat protection. In addition through observation and research to further broaden our understanding on the importance of environmental protection and to make Taipei City at peace with wildlife.
Our goalĄG
1. To make sure that the Kuan-Du Nature Park located in the city of Taipei, the first Nature Park in Taiwan is properly managed.
2. Continue to raise public awareness over environmental protection.
3. To look into steps that we can take toward making Taipei a greener city.
4. In addition to protect TaiwanĄŠs endangered bird species, we will also join international efforts to protect bird species and their habitats worldwide.

| Major Activities. |

• Exchange information with both local and international birding groups, academic institutions, and various conservation organizations.
• The Society publishes books and journals and releases reports on bird-related issues.
• The WBST has established a Center for the rescue and rehabilitation of injured birds.
• Our educational outreach program promotes bird watching by offering birding tours and by cooperating with private business and government organizations in disseminating the concept of conservation.
• By commission from various private and government groups, we conduct short term field surveys which contribute to our on-going effort to monitor the status of the bird population in Taipei City and their habitats.
• We do everything in our power to safeguard nesting and feeding habitat for wild birds. We act as a watchdog to make sure the government does what it should do to pass and implement environmental protection laws.
• To service members, the WBST provide bird-watching gears at a reasonable price and offers its expertise and its printed and electronic resources to members and public who have questions about birds.
